The story.
This was the first project I worked on during my internship at Studio Underd0g, and boy, did it turn out good!
Ever gotten a popup on Google asking you to 'accept cookies'? Well, when Google's watch collectors' group 'watches@' wants to collaborate with a watch brand like Studio Underd0g, known for making food-inspired dials, the project pretty much writes itself.
A foreshadow.
Before my internship at Studio Underd0g, I spent my free time between university projects developing various color schemes.
Seen here is an early concept for a cookie-themed Studio Underd0g watch that I created long before I had any official affiliation with the brand!
Now, I cannot take any credit for the inspiration behind the playful link between cookies and the watches@ group, but maybe it was fate that this would be the first project I worked on.
Easter eggs.
It wouldn't be a Studio Underd0g design without some playful easter eggs.
Despite this dial already featuring chocolate chip hour markers, we decided to take it one step further. There are actually four versions of the Co0kie, each with a different color on the tip of the chronograph hand.
In fact, 33% have a red tip, 33% have a blue tip, 17% have a yellow tip, and 17% have a green tip. These ratios are proportional to the frequency each color appears in the Google logo - nerdy, right?
